Corroded front brake discs
I think I will have to replace the front disc`s on my yr 2000 R1100s. They have become "pock marked " They are Brembo brakes, and they still appear to work well, and have recently passed the MOT. If I have to replace them, which is the cheapest option,while still maintaining efficiency.

it`s a bit more than normal. Quite pronounced in places ,as if it is where the pads have been for some time while the bike has been standing,and the damp has corroded the disc. My MOT guy said they would need watching but are OK for now.

Braking discs are very good, but i think you can only get them from wunderlich so failing that go OEM as they are cheaper. You could try

They do older beemers, but may well match or manu them. But dont let them touch your bike, the mech has two left feet for hands.

I have the same problem, standing bike in winter (even after washing) would have rust patches on disc where it was covered by the calipers.
I think it has affected performance a bit but then again the front brakes could do with a strip and clean....
let us know how you get on, I'd be curious to see how much it would cost and what difference it makes.

Corroding Brake Disks
I have had both front discs replaced under warranty over a period of 18 months.
After washing the disks would corrode and pit at the calliper position within approx 3 days if stood during the winter months, even after drying.
The only way to prvent this after washing has been to turn the wheel the next day after the discs and pads have dryed completely.
Never had the problem with the rear disc!
