Xmas morning ride....

Post by slparry »

… with nothing else to occupy my time I decided to go to an old dive spot (they recently dismantled the pier so I wanted to see the result). It's Trefor Pier just south of Caernarfon.

Went from Wrexham>Bala>Trawsfynydd>Pwllheli>Trefor>Caernarfon>A55 and back to Wrexham, just shy of 200 miles. Left at 8am

Absolutely stunned …… ZERO traffic until Caernarfon. A couple of cars on the other side of the road but nothing at all on my side, I'll definitely be doing that again, I've never experienced such traffic free conditions.

route (from the RT's tracker)

Merry Christmas Steve, that sounds like a great way to spend the day. We've got both daughters staying, so getting out for a ride was out of the question :)

Cheers

I can highly recommend it if you can get out Ian as being zero traffic was awesome!

Merry Christmas back …. now sat here with a ginger tomcat (Simba) on my lap and a lovely Remy Martin VSOP cognac at the side of me :D

I done a similar thing many years ago on my old R65 - forgot about that until I saw your post. Unfortunately this Crimbo couldn't do it if I wanted as I'm recovering from a dislocated shoulder. On the plus side I've had Christmas off but I don't get paid

walking back from my sisters pub (no I wasn't!!!!) who was terminally ill and there's a short stretch of road with no street lights and a footpath not exactly race track smooth. I think I slipped off the path and ended up doing a superman. Thought nothing of it until eveytime I turned over in bed someone appeared to be shoving a red hot poker through my shoulder. Thought I'd better get myself to A & E. 9 hours later after paracetamol, liquid morphine, gas & air (which didn't work) then a mild sedative and ketamine I went home with a strapped up arm. I believe I learnt how to fly a space ship but the doctor assured me it was just the ketamine

Thanks Ian. Got loads to do but can't do it!! Look up a site _ Franzis.de - they had a stall at this years Motorrad days, and do a half scale model of an R90S engine - a deluxe working Airfix kit if you like, well that is whats going to keep me busy for a few hours next week

Excellent Dave, the model looks great, and at 2:1 it's going to be a decent size when it's all finished.
I've got a Lego model of a Saturn V with Apollo capsule still to build. 100 cm tall, 1969 parts - the year it was launched! Had it from my 65th birthday - just looking for a clear couple of days to do it.

Enjoy your build and get well soon.

Nice model engine Dave. I updated your post with a link to the site showing the kit you have.

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

I got a 50 Euro discount for being at Motorrad days. The Mustang V8 engine looks interesting
