What size engine.

Post by ronnierockster »

Hi I just got myself an R1100S Is the engine 1085 as in the sales blurb that came with it . Or is it 1130 as in the V5 (log book/reg document). I thought they only came as 1085cc . The insurance co had it as that, but put a note on the policy that the V5 said 1130. Confused??????
This is no rehersal. Stay with the plot. RR

I believe 11S's were all 1085 - they never increased like the rest of the range at the time. There was a thread on this a while ago but my failing memory can't help with the outcome.....

The conclusion seems to be that ALL R1100S's were built as 1085cc but BMW cocked up the admin and the DVLA ended up with bogus data stating they were 1130cc. Not sure if it was the Germans or the Brits who cocked up, but if I had to guess my money would be on our friends in Bracknell.....
