Stolen yellow R1100S

Post by victorlaszlo »

My R1100S got stolen last week in N. London - please keep an eye open as it could be anywhere in the country!

It had rear Ohlins, full Remus system, USB charger in the left hand instrument panel, heated grips, 5.5" rear tyre, rear indicators supported by ZIP ties and number plate, likely changed, R161RRD.

Keep your eyes open please!!![/img]

Hi Victor. Sorry to see that. I actually saw your posters on the Brecknock Rd today. My girlfriend took a photo and I was going to post it up but you've got there before me. Hope you get it back.

Sorry to hear that, I used to live on Holloway Road so must have seen you at some point. I still work in east London so will be on the look out. Keep an eye on eBay for any recognisable parts being listed, especially exhaust and fairings.

Tough, If you are fully comp and complied with insurers t and c`s you may get a few quid back in compo.

find it hard to comprehend that someone would profit from this kind of bike :?

Good luck with that.

Is it a third world thing going on in our capital?

The Ohlins was a nice touch though

Sadly from the motor cycle dealer I'm friendly with, these bikes stolen are in eastern europe within a few days ....

Porous borders .....

A friend was having her bike freighted across europe to Spain , and she forgot the papers when she delivered it, the freight driver said no problem , he'd hide it ....

Sure enough the bike arrived , no hassle ....

And that bike crossed 4 borders .

So , until our border control officials wake up , there will be no end of bikes being stolen .

I struggle to understand why someone would go through that hassle for a bike that in the UK is worth perhaps 2000, 3000 on a good day...

The profit having transported it, taking the risks etc would be close to nothing.

If it would have been stolen to make a quick profit I don't think there's one to be made, and the better bet being to sell of its parts as spares in the UK.

If it had been a GS or S1000RR I would have understood though...

I'm sure it's on an estate somewhere, or being joy ridden around...

Boston? Lowestoft? Skeg?

I agree with Victor, joy ridden or maybe resting at the bottom of a canal.

Scum.
