recommended braided brake lines?

My time has come for the absectomy. I'm not messing about with a diagnosis and looking for a fix. The abs was great when it worked but now all I want is some up to date opinions on where to buy a front and rear set of braided lines.

For what bike? Interestingly your great abs, how many times did it actually actuate? and if it was great how come you do not want to continue to have this great feature?? I thought the abs was anything but great on my 1100gs, the feckin lights were flashing like a disco some times and I do not think I ever activated it once! Goodridge, Hel, Speigler all make em and Amazon, Ebay etc sell em. Motoworks only do Goodridge. BTW your redundant bmw abs pump unit will make a great sea anchor

I had my R11S done last year, and Venhill made up some really nice hoses for mine - stainless fittings with black sleeving over the top - they're top quality. I've used them several times before and they've always done a good job.

If you know what size you need they can work to a drawing, or if you send them your old lines they'll copy them.

You'll need to make a little "U" piece under the front of the tank cover - essentially where the fluid from the master cylinder would have gone to the ABS unit, and then returns out again to go down to the calipers.

A little off tangent [ endorse the Venhill sentiments ] - anyone done the clutch line ???

Used venhill a few times, to build up custom set ups. Their power plus ( I think thats it) is easy to work out lengths as you measure simply hose length without banjos. Then decide which banjo type you want. They do different hose colours. Black is good. The service is first class. The website pretty easy. The quality verygood imo . Stainless fittings.

Can't believe I didn't say I've got the R1100s. The reason I'm happy to let the abs go is the stupid cost of having it repaired.

Have you done the absectomy yet? If you're looking for someone to do it, Mick Kendrick in Sunderland is good - independent BMW chap. Only downside is he doesn't do courtesy bikes - just has a small workshop in Roker. Let me know if you need details

got mine for the bcr (Goodrich) from motorworks, turned up, fitted, no problems.
give them a shout if not sure bout getting the right ones.

I bought some HEL lines off ebay from DAG hose supplies (davidgoodlip@gmail.com).

They look very good and were delivered quickly. £80 for the three.
