The red white and blue BCR is a lot taller thanks to the suspension, about as tall as a GS Adventure. This was done to enable the Boxercup racers to carry more lean angle in the turns. The carbon head guards slide easier on the tarmac and doesn't grip like the plastic ones. It has white faced dials, carbon cylinder head guards, 5.5'' rear wheel to fit 180 section tyre, Laser exhaust and chip, carbon belly pan, carbon mirror fill plates, mirrors mounted on the handle bar for easy removal. These had the dual spark engines and where produced until 2004.

The Randy Mamola BCR is basically just a R1100S with the sport package added which included taller suspension but not as tall as the RWB BCR, 5.5'' rear wheel. Extra add on was the carbon belly pan, Laser exhaust, carbon head guards. These where limited in production. Most were made with the dual spark engine but there is a few single spark ones out there.

Whilst the sport package was an option when you ordered the bike back then it became standard fitment for the last year of production which ended in 2005. You can easily spot the sport package by looking for the yellow springs on the Showa shocks. Whilst ABS, heated grips and the pillion seat cover was optional extras you can have your pick today of these different configurations.

The BMW luggage is good. Big enough for guest house touring, looks stylish and is water proof. You get 2 different depths of lids. City lids and touring lids. No need to tell you that the city lids is a lot slimmer. It is very easy to replace the lid. A worthwhile addition is the system pannier bags.

To add to the above:

BCR (Mamola) were originally produced in SingleSpark version and were limited production.
BCR (Mamola) were additionally produced in TwinSpark version - Unlimited production.
BCR (RWB) Twinspark, unlimited production.

There was no difference in performance of each of the above engine variants.

System Panniers - Three widths.

City Lids: As mentioned - very useful, albeit limited capacity
Touring Lids: Fairly wide, but hold a decent amount of gear.
Global Lids: Huge lids, only ever seen on 1150 GS

Seats:All models w.e.o. RWB BCR used the same seat.

RWB BCR utilises a higher seat with a slightly different profile.

Welcome..I use my panniers as little as possible preferring the Motorrad tail bag…it'll fit all my wet weather gear, camera,etc

I picked up my bike Saturday and am very happy with it. One thing I have to ask which hasn't come out. The bike has ABS but it's been disabled. So is it worth fixing it back up or was the ABS a bit of a pain? My bike is a 2001, I'd puit a picture up but I'm not sure if I need a flickr account, can I post a picture without one?
The bike is yellow and black, and I've done a few hundred miles on it and love it already!

Also has heated grips but the rubber is a bit worn. Can I put new rubber on without renewing the heating element?
Does anyone use a bagster tank cover and the bagster tank bag?
I like that motorad tank bag, is that from BMW??

you will need an account of some sort to post pics. the abs is probably disabled due to it being faulty, and it isn't cheap to fix. as I don't have abs someone with the same problem will be along to put you right. enjoy the new ride.

If you are going to be doing any dirt road riding , I'd have preferred the ABS disabled .

My mate had a very serious off excursion .... took the ABS off right away .

Bike wasn't about to slow down on a slippery down hill dirt road .....

But I guess if you are doing 90% tarmac , leave it on .

I don't like ABS , but that's a personal preference from 30 years racing off road bikes .

Yes the rear wheel is very wide, couldn't imagine it being wider. What's is in the Sports Pack? ABS?

ok how do I lower my footpegs? My legs seem reluctant to bend comfortably. I've seen that people have lowered the foot rests somewhere I'm sure.
