Trip to Wales over the weekend.

It was a good, but very wet, weekend on the bikes

and the old R100 did me proud! Some photos below -

I'll say it was wet Steve but there's something really satisfying about riding in the rain don't you think? All nice pic's mate. I particularly like the one by the lake. Where is that exactly? Must go and see it myself.

Its at Lanberis Nick. Nice place, plus there's a rack and pinion climbing train that goes to the top of Snowdon. £27 a go though! We gave it a miss as we didn't have time, plus the cloud cover on the top of snowdon suggested we wouldn't see much!

Nice pics, nice bike! What tyres are fitted to your bike, interested in something a bit more modern for my R90/s, have contis fitted at mo.

Thanks Martin.

It came with Conti Go tyres on it, and it's the first bike of that era I've owned, so can’t really make any comparisons.

They seem ok to be honest, better in the wet than I thought they would be (I've been spoilt by pilot road 3s on the modern bikes I've owned).

I think I'll be putting the same on when they wear out to be honest.

only down side is they are affected by white lines more than other bikes I've ridden, but that’s probably more due to the bike, rather than the tyres.

Would say that the white line issue is more likely the bike than the tyres as my 90/s gives a little shake over lines too! and just don't even think about trying to shut the throttle mid corner!!!!!! I know you shouldn't anyway but enthusiasm occasionally can get the upperhand

Paralever front ends are in a different league

Good pictures. Sounds like a great day out.

Your crash helmet seems to get in a few pictures! Reminded me of Michael bentines potty time.

Re tyres for old boxer. Continental brought out "classic attack" a couple of years back. I'll not be swayed from the bridgestone bt45 's though. On my third set on the R100. Grip like hell but don't last too long. Great in the wet too.

We came home on the A5, and over Horseshoe Pass too... (very nice road!)

I did think about dropping you a PM when we were having a drink at the Ponderosa, but assumed you'd be out on the GS in the nice weather.

I somehow manage to metal block it out of view when taking the photos, then when I look back I'm always annoyed I didn't just move it! Doesn't match my bike either!

The Pondy is literally 5 minutes away from me
