The heading for Langkawi because of a fire makes sense, but how do you then explain how it ends up in the sea 1000 miles south west of Perth which seems to be the general consensus at the moment.

That theory drew a lot of support, but I heard on the radio that Boeing 777 pilots have dismissed it because:

- First thing the captain and copilot would do is put on oxygen masks to avoid being overcome by smoke
- Next they would start sending out mayday calls
- Thirdly, they would not switch off communication and tracking

They wouldn't just go silent and disappear. I do hope the find out what really happened.
