Fuel Starvation

Post by Archie »

This morning in lane 2.5 of the M4, my bike gradually ran out of steam, as a bike with carbs would run onto reserve. It dropped to about 50% I guess, and then slowly picked up again. In hindsight I now realise that it has done this once before.

Anyone else experienced this, or know what it might be? My guess is either pump or regulator.

Cheers

I think Bailey had some fuel starvation he attributed to the fuel filter being clogged. I have a spare fuel pump ypu could try but I'd need it back after. Blacks also have one on e-bay for £50.

Almost 100% it's the fuel filter.....feels like something is holding the bike back...like the brakes are on! Only becomes apparent at long periods of high speed.HTH
Bailey.
