Can anyone that has fitted HIDs just gimme a tip on how they routed the wires into the headlight assembly to the bulb and kept the whole lot watertight. When I wired up for some 100w bulbs I drilled some holes and used some gromits which was fine, but the HIDs have those big special connectors and would not pass through a gromit size hole - or if the hole was big enough to pass the connectors, the gromit wouldn't be tight around the wire.
Did you split the rubber gaiter behind the lamp or what? I'm sure there is a 'proper' solution, just wondering what it was

When I fitted mine I cut a small cross in the middle of the rubber gaiter
and fed the cables through from the inside (lamp side).so the hole
didn't need to accomodate the bulb .
The kit that I fitted ( thanks again Adam ) had a gromit on the actual control line so all I had to do was make a small hole and then stretch it every so slightly to get the connector through then the grommet sealed the hole nicely.

Looks like a small incision in the gaiter is the way to go then - I'd appreciate any installation type pics though. Taking a closer look, the bulb leads have an inline gromit that will go nicely in the gaiter - result.
And Gus... no mate, I can't wait. With all the shit on the roads, this nasty fine drizzle and slippery roads I need all the help I can get.

If I have a black wire and a white wire (US), and my brown and yellow to the bulb - which goes to which, or don't you think it matters It may just need to complete a circuit in the ignitor.
I've had a look at some sites and think the brown goes to black, but I just dunno.......

Where did you fit the ballast then please? There are a few places I can put it but I was wondering how hot it got - I don't want to stick it on the petrol tank then find it glows at 200 degrees If it's going to get toasty I need to keep it away from the other wiring too
I reckon I'll probably get some thick velcro and mount it down inside the faring somewhere out of harms way - looks to be nice and watertight and the wires are long enough
Same as Lloyd, I suspended ballast from front sub frame (made up a bracket from bottom of subframe) and relocated horn. Also did same re leads, I've got a set of clever punches from way back. Punched hole in rubber cover to take gromit already on new light fitting.
