Hello,
Regretfully last year I sold my Laverda Jota (For loads of money by the way so don't feel sorry for me).
I wanted something unusual, quirky and just... well different to replace it.
Well the proceeds from the Laverda enabled my to purchase a low mileage black R1200S dripping with carbon and lots of other goodies from "Popkat" sometimes seen on this forum but probably not anymore as he sold it to me! I also bought a low mileage BMW K1100LT which I commute daily on and a Suzuki DRX-400 for the mud and still had change! I didn't realise how desirable an orange Laverda Jota from 1980 had becoming.
Overall I love the R1200S just because it is what it is... An underrated (very) fast motorcycle which people have I think forgotten about to be honest. Most of the time it sits on it's stand in my garage waiting to be taken out for a blast....Tomorrow looks sunny...
I am kind of hoping that the R1200S will become the new Laverda Jota? Maybe I am being a tad optimistic but one can hope nevertheless. It will only take George Clooney and/or Brad Pitt to be seen on an R1200S and we will be in the money!
I am certainly of the view that they will reach their nadir soon and then steady at a price and then start to climb like the old oil heads.
Well at the moment nothing would prise it from me
Just my pennyworth
Best regards,
David
