Makes you wonder if a previous owner has lost one, and replaced it with a new one :o

I'll be very interested to hear your results. :)

Hi John - thanks for that, the link works fine now.

I'm booked in at Race Engineering of Dunmow on Saturday (same tuner that damoace used for his BCR, see thread .... viewtopic.php?t=17237 )

I'm having Lennie's cam sprockets,a Laser exhaust, carbon inlet duct and your mod done all at the same time. Obviously, if I do see any difference or improvement I won't be able to determine exactly which change had most effect and I can't be asked to do one change at a time.
They're going to do a dyno run to establish some base settings then make the changes.

My bike is a 2005 model with 6600 miles on the clock.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks again.

My Pleasure Kieron.

Really looking forward to the dyno results, but more importantly how the bike feels to you afterwards.

The GS tubes and Lennie's sprockets will give by far the biggest gains, followed by the InDuct, then the Laser sys.

All the best.

R1100S airbox

Post by kpw894 »

Does anyone know if this comes apart (in half). Mine's full of old oil and crud and I want to clean it inside which would be easier if it was in half. I don't know if it comes apart easily along the split line and didn't want to start forcing it.

Thanks.

In my post above I was referring to the airbox on a R1100S.

Thanks.

There are two drain screws one each side of the airbox
The top comes off but you will need to get the back of the tank raised to get to it

Hope this helps Dai

Dai - thanks for that, but I've actually got the airbox off the bike and wondered if/how it comes apart, as I didn't want to force it ?

Thanks.

The only way the airbox comes apart is undoing the four screws at the top
I'm afraid

Hi ODDDWHEELS.

Despite bobbing up here now and then, I have really been dogged by the Black Dog for the last few months and so lots of things have not progressed, including getting to the dyno shop. Haven't been out on HerrFlick for at least 5-6 weeks. :(

This has given me a bit of a gee-up so I'll try to get it arranged.

Cheers

Take Heerflick for a squirt and that will help keep the black dog away, my R1100S keeps my interests up and it's always a pleasure to ride, even though it's foggy and 5 degrees C. "Keep Riding" :D
