this is not designed to start a tyre debate
My 12 came with brand new metzler m3's that i wasn't a big fan of and i only got 3k out of the rear. my dilema was what to replace it with as i'm a died in the wool michelin man and i wanted a pr3 but the front m3 is too good to throw and of course there's the added expense of two expensive michelins while wasting a perfectly good front. i didn't want to risk mixing tyre brands 'and' tyre types (sport vs sport touring) and dismissed the metzler z8 on account of it probably lasting 6k ish and then having to get another metzler front. so; i've gone with the metzler m5 thinking that i'll finish it this year (if it ever stops raining) and then get a set of pr3's. imagine my horror on getting back to the car with my newly fitted tyre on the loose wheel, lobbed it in the boot and what do i see on the edge of the rubber.
LEAN ANGLE MARKINGS!!!!!!!
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!!
its just embarrassing, that's what it is. childish nonsense that shall have to be scrubbed off pronto.
Indeed - wednesday's forecast for this weekend was 'warmish on saturday and dry, then properly warm (19c+) on sunday and sunny'. This gradually evolved into 'chance of rain' to 'it's going to be a bit poo' by friday's forecast.
i like that - in a way. Perhaps not quite so garish, but something a bit more "Modest" - some notches, lines etc, certainly would be of use to newer/less confident riders - show them just how much tyre they actually have to play with.
Or just have a big pair of bollocks right on the lip edge.

As opposed to the actual tyre
Or just have a big pair of bollocks right on the lip edge.
i think the answer is in the suggestion here
