I bought it 3 years ago from the original owner with 36xxx km on the clock, now has 94xxx so it get used a fair bit. I traded up from a K100, my first BMW. Before that was all Jap bikes, mainly Suzuki.
I've done a few mods to mine. Lennies sprockets, Wilbers rear shock, custom mufflers (modified ebay SS mufflers) and soon to fit a cat eliminator.
The top triple clamp and high bars were fitted by the original owner. When I was looking for a replacement for my K100 I test rode a R11s and thought it was a wonderful bike apart from the low bars. Getting old. So I kept looking and test riding other bikes, F800R, new Bonneville and a few Jap bikes then this one came up locally so I stuffed my pocket with cash and went and had a look. Took the wife along as it needs to be pillion friendly. After a test ride and the nod from my pillion we started to talk $$ She drove the car home and I rode my new bike. Haven't regretted a minute of riding it.
