Looks like the suspension isn't so much "stiff" - but more the result of rigor-mortis..........

Spammy new stainless caliper screws?

That rear end looks really jacked up too.

No one noticed my inlet duct [won't call it an induct i don't want to be sued by Mr lennon] How you doing Mark

Back end lifted a little bit, new shocs front and back, GS torque arm fitted,[ebay bargain £16.99 delivered] Home made centre stand stops,[drill through cat mounting, 6m bolt, two nuts, two washers, and walking stick rubber ferrels glued in place gives a good stop with about a half inch of give] i fitted one each side just to be sure [no ground clearance problems as can be seen by chicken strips]

Bars back under yokes the brake hose was a touch short with the new front shoc i am on the look out for two hoses to run from the master cylinder as i now suffer a bit on runs of 70+ miles [trapped nerves in spine causing my shoulders to play up]

My recent playing around with the fueling has resulted in two full tanks and a £10 top up giving 300 miles before the light came on and stayed on so i'm more than happy with that

Next on the agender[spelnn] is new pushrods and left camchain tensioner but this will have to wait untill i am a bit more solvent

Actually Dai, I did notice your inlet duct as I remembered querying a previous post of yours where you'd said you were going to cut off the front of the air box. I just didn't realise it was a recent addition :D I had to do a close up to make sure it wasn't the Lennies that disappeared from ebay this weekend before its end time. Anyone else on here :?:

I have two airbox tops so i did away with the restrictions in this one glassed it up as per instructions on here, and was running without the ducting but noticed my trousers getting drawn in to the opening, so i made this one the inner is now bigger than the outer on the original also i have a spare front piece that i am trying to open up using a fire extinguisher[spelin] nozzle time will tell if i ever get round to it

To be perfectly honest i can't notice any difference on the road with the new duct over a standard one but fuel economy has gone up so this can only be a good thing

However i will be trying the wide band lambda sensor in the near future just because i have it here and it hurts that i have paid for it but not tried it yet

At this point i would like everyone on here for all the help over the years when i was lurking before i joined up
without you all i doubt if the bike would ever have got back on the road

Cheers all and thanks again Dai

Did this have any effect on the bike or rider

Did you seriously not notice any diference with the modded duct? I'm going to have to refit my standard one just to prove to myself that the modded one is better... when I get a chance.

To be totally honest no

But as i have said in other threads you need about a 10% increase in power before you notice it on the road or track, but it has made the bike better to ride i can now keep my left leg tucked into the bike and not waving arround in the breeze it used to bog down with my overtrousers getting sucked into the intake at times.

As i said in another thread the best performance mod i ever made was fitting the HID lighting el nicko said it was worth about 40 horse power and i won't argue with that But it only works after dark!

The best mod i made for daylight hours was the rocket sprockets the bike now pulls a gear higher for a given speed and will pull top gear from 2,000 revs two up on a flat road they realy have given it a good midrange boost over the magic 10%
at the same time i did the throttle bodies with overhaul kit's from Cata Dan and feel it makes sence to do both jobs at the same time as you have to remove the left throttle body to do the sprockets
Just don't do the job when tired, sunburnt, hurting, buzzing on painkillers, with someone looking over your shoulder saying "i thought we were going out" also buy a good torque wrench before you start or you may also end up buying a replacement cambox like i did! take your time when fresh and it's a suprisingly easy job

Together the mods i have made have made it a nicer bike to ride wether i'm scratching or have my touring head on it feels far better than it did,
A mate rode my bike he has a Ducati 900 monster and one of those new Guzzi's he came back smiling and said "BM's don't go or handle like that Dai" he's had a few of them pass through his hands so i am more than happy

The only thing i'm not so happy about is the rattles from the engine if i wear my roof boxer it seems the motors realy quiet i can't hear a rattle or knock but it's a different story with my craft [simpson bandit look alike] it sounds like the engine going to go bang but i presume it's all good as there is next to no vibration through the footrests nor has it got any worse in the 4 years iv'e had it with earplugs in i cant notice a engine noise of any sort with any helmet and i can't find any knocks or rattles with a stetherscope[speling]

The mods i have done seem to work well together and i would do them all again it just wouldn't take me 4 years to do them

The sun's shining i'm going to fit the new lambda sensor and give it an oil change lets see what if any difference this makes Dai

Ride report with universal wideband lambda sensor [the cheap one from ebay] no CCP fitted, motronic reset,[don't do as i did and get the fuses mixed up i forgot which fuse to pull for the motronic pulled the lot from left fusebox put them back the wrong way round the bike started ran for about five seconds then stopped and refused to restart]

Runs far better than it did with the original narrow band one fitted met up with a mate on his Suzuki SV1000 and did a few spirited miles with no noticable difference to not having a lambda sensor fitted, i will try refitting the CCP next and see what this does [think i have just had a daja vu moment]

Watch this space if it runs well with the CCP in and the wideband lambda fitted it may be a cheap fix for those with surging problems with catted bikes, sorry i will not be refitting my cat to test this theory but i am sure the lambda sensor was about £16 get the one with one black wire, one grey, and two whites, but does come without a plug you will have to cut the original wireing to fit it but it did come with crimps and heatshrink so it's not that bad a job, however if it does not work on your bike you could refit the original back into the wireing twist together wire's and either heatshrink or self amalgamating tape [i don't like soldering wireing on any bike the wire seems to harden and snap so i crimp or twist]

I'm not saying it will work but if it does it's a cheap fix if not you have got to know your bike a bit better lost £16 and a couple of hours

If the sun shines tomorrow i will be trying the CCP fitted and will report back

Cheers all Dai

Yellow CCP fitted on way there, got there took it back out, felt flat & a bit rough.

Came home with mate on Yam FJR 1300 when we got back to Fagins he told everyone that would listen that "That bloody rat bike is just as fast as mine" mixed motorway and A road's,

Edit; I should say we did a few top gear roll on's 4,000 revs yam infront 5,000 i had caught up 6,000 yam just pulling away by that time we were getting hooked up in traffic all good fun, speeding not us officer!

Wide band lambda staying for now untill i can work out the fuel consumption.
