Power lead for Iphone
OK chaps, numpty question coming up.
I have one of those on-bike Iphone cases that allows you to use your phone as a gps and have also recently fitted a power socket to the S.
The question is as the phone case only accommodates a genuine Apple charger plug, where do I but a charger cable with the apple plug on one end and the mini cigarette ligher plug at the other?
Alternatively, I have a power socket plug (came with the power socket kit) so which wires do I connect if I cut the end off a standard Apple charger cable?

If you fit a normal "car-type" socket - you could use one of these Belkin adaptors?

You can get them from Amazon etc.
You can buy car-type waterproof sockets off ebay from vendor "A1bettamotoring" for £6.00 delivered

Any help?

or this ready made, but more expensive kit,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-DI ... 924wt_1344
The kit above, although it doesn't show it in the images, also comes with a cover to protect the iphone charge plug end of the cable when not in use, as shown here,

I use a plug very similar to the one Al mentions made by Griffin, in the car and it works fine.
I'd be wary about connecting a non approved plug to your iphone cable though, you might just f*** it up.

Cheers
I've ordered one of these so will let you know how I get on with it.
Didn't want to go down the hard wiring route as its only for very occasional use (when I get lost) and I've just installed a power socket

Thanks for the replies chaps. I knew I could count on you lot

The lead works and seems to be well made and fits nicely into the Iphone case I have.Daveg2812 wrote:How did you get on with this? Have you just threaded the charge lead under the tank and cable tied the connecter somewhere suitable. Does it look to be a well made bit of kit?
I haven't tried to install as yet as I'm not going to use it that often. However I'm not sure the layout of the switch box and the in-line connector are that well placed for permanent mounting? Obviously the switch box needs to be accessible (as the on-bike power socket is permanently live) and I'm not sure if you mount the switch box close to the power socket there will be enough cable to run through to the front of the bike
