I was driving to the gliding club today, listening to a scientist talking about the Alan Turing legacy in modern computing. All went well until he said that human beings are not well designed to drive or fly aeroplanes and computers could do a far better job (maybe that is true but). So we should relax and enjoy the ride and let computers do the work.

I found myself shouting "fcuk off you stupid *^%+*#*?!¥$€*^%#"! at the radio, which probably helped make his case. But I love driving, flying gliders and riding motorbikes. I don't want anyone ever thinking that I would enjoy relaxing as a passenger while computers do all the work.

If he doesn't like driving, fair enough he doesn't have to, but don't inflict these nightmare Utopias on others. It may be a long way off, but...

Most scientists live with their mothers and have little grasp on reality.
Take no notice.

I had One flight in a glider, a excellent experience.
We performed a "loop-de-loop" and then a "hang turn"......(stall wing tip down).
I don't believe they have a computer program to do that.
