Re: Motoscan

Sweet! I’ve got the Motoscan app too, is there any other secrets I can unlock as it were? Special menus, features? Keen to learn… Please feel free to explain to a stupid person….. And this is on the R1200S and a F800ST. Regards Mark. No secret menus im afraid, Perhaps I made it sound sexier than it...

Re: Error Message

Dunno about everyone else but I’m still getting this occasionally.

I was able to access the site at lunch no worries, tried at half 5ish and got the error on phone and computer.

Obviously it’s working now (19.50)

Re: Motoscan

I can wholeheartedly agree. For the money, MOTOSCAN is fantastic! I’ve been using TEXA at work for probably 10 years, heard about the coding ability of the MOTOSCAN so thought I’d try it on an F800R that wasn’t displaying the gear sensor, 5 taps later, it’s working :D I’ve since carried out several ...

Re: R1200S DOHC Project

Had my first Sunday ride yesterday, finally, cracking ride if a little short, over to Pateley Bridge. Bike pulls like a train, a little flat spot just before 6k which is a little annoying. Just something else to figure out… hoping to get a dyno run in the next couple of weeks to see how it compares ...

If BMW don’t wanna do it I’ll have a go :D just need a little help in the financing department… Any takers?

Re: R1200S DOHC Project

Quick photo dump. These are from my Instagram so have been edited slightly 29CD6293-5309-42CD-BD8E-87EB81B42B77.jpeg I love the Heritage M Badge, had to go with genuine for the side panels, the knock off ones are just slightly wrong, enough to bug me. This meant the only option was 74mm badges (orig...

Re: R1200S DOHC Project

As someone with the mechanical skills of a ( insert your favourite term for dunce here  ) I think this is incredible. A beautiful bike. I loved my 1200S although it was bloody uncomfortable without bar risers and a one off version like this with useable upgrades must be a lovely thing to ride...

Re: R1200S DOHC Project

Technically amazing but the colours are not for me. Each to their own though. I did prefer the black and white over the carbon but like I say, personal preference. Totally get it, that’s the whole reason I did this. There isn’t a bike on the market that ticks all my boxes so I made one. Ideally I d...

Re: R1200S DOHC Project

Sorry for the delayed updates, struggling to access the forum most days. I really like it :D the purple makes the paintwork shine. Stick with that for a while get the Zard, very nice bit of kit (but I’m a bit biased) imho it suits the bike without shouting I’ve got a trick pipe. IMG_0645.jpeg Yeah, ...

Re: R1200S DOHC Project

Nice sunny day yesterday so I took the time to throw the fairings back on and get a sense of what its going to look like IMG_9401 Large.jpeg Wow, and black and white was the worst part in your opinion! :D Am I tripping or does the Black and White go quite well?? IMG_9418 Large.jpeg Got lots of...

Re: R1200S DOHC Project

I spent a good 5 hours on Saturday working on the wiring loom. Boring but satisfying results. Im adding cruise control from an rs/rt and i want it as close to 'factory' as possible so it was a great opportunity to route the 9 new wires through the loom from the battery area to the various end points...

Re: R1200S DOHC Project

Not much of an update here... Been waiting for Powder Coating for the last week. Had a snow day yesterday (yes. like a child) so i had time to play with my 3d scanner. The DOHC engine has plastic covers below each cylinder to cover the secondary coil and wires. BMW want £25 a side! So after several ...

Re: R1200S DOHC Project

Twas mine for 90,000 of those miles. Not painted by me I will add, although it stood out from the normal colours which did nothing for me anyway. Each to their own though. The Hagon replaced the front Ohlins which itself was damaged beyond repair when the bottom mount split clear in half. The rear ...
