I always do an internet search and have never paid anything like what the AA are quoting you.

When I went to France in July I used these people http://www.startrescue.co.uk/european they are quoting £37 for 16 days cover providing your bike is less than 10 years old.

I'm expecting a big increase in speed cameras in the UK as the KSI (killed & serious injury) stat's have gone up for this first time in quite a few years. This'll have the politicians panicking and I expect their solution will be cheap quick fix... Ie more cameras :evil:

IMO the K1200R is a marmite bike in terms of looks, personally I love it :D Well, in the right colour it is.
