Headlight switch.

Do the Newer R1100S's have the light switch on?? I know Rev Freds bike has the 3-position switch - but do the newer ones still have it??
My Rockster doesn't have it - but I would like to retrofit one. Obviously if I can put on the original switch it'd look much better.
I was thinking of putting on an older switch cluster with the switch built into it and with the complete wiring loom etc but don't know if the rest of the wiring in the bike half of the loom is still compatible.
Anyone done this on an S?

definately 52 reg onwards the S has no option to turn the lights "off" bit of a shit as I don't like it

I bet the wiring is still there. They just remove the switch mechanism itself. Cost to much money to remodel a wiring loom.

Is the switch on the heated grip-equipped 52+ models? That used to be an option for the Australian hard-wired models to gain a light switch.

My '53 heated grip S is hard wired. I too would like the option of switching them off. The accountants love it when they can save money in the name of 'safety'

Just a thought, but if the wires are, as we assume, still in the loom, couldn't you order a spare for a pre 2002 bike from a dealer/breaker.
Assuming Jason's stock has been depleted soonish.

The dealer (Vines) reckons the Rockster loom doesn't have any of the switch wiring in it. Personally I think that'd be rather odd, but feasable.
UNLESS there's a market somewhere in the world that STILL sells BMW's ('04 models) with a light switch - IN WHICH CASE, the wiring for the switch will be there (so logic tells me). Anyone know of a market where light switches are still used?
