Halfords Oil

Post by Jason M »

Now I know most of you lot check the DNA of motor oil to ensure it has Castrol genes before putting in your pride and joy but...

Went to Halfords for a filter and oil today - was going to go for the cheap stuff cos it doesn't seem to make much difference to my bike but...

My Halfords is presently selling their 0/40 Fully Synthetic for £14.99 for 5 litres - flippin bargain, and half the usual price. Only £2 more than mineral so I gave the old girl a treat!

I don't understand it - they only seem to be doing it on the 5 litres - the 2 litres is still the same price

Not me ! it's an ancient engine design and the tolerances just aren't that fine, so I just throw in the standard mineral, works fine for me, but depends what your personal preference is I suppose. :? It will be interesting to hear if you start using more oil though now you've put synth in !

Talking of oil.......................the old girl has suddenly stopped using it in the last couple of weeks. Strange thing is she's just gone through 61k miles.

Been on mobile 1 for about 40k miles.
