k1200rs fuel regulator

Post by yetanotherbm »

:D Hi. Having checked out the fuel delivery rates, the 1200RS regulator delivers fuel at a higher rate than the standard 1100S does. I guess that this would compensate for any increase in air velocity, lower exhaust restrictions etc. Basically, they richen the mixture! They cost about £35, but are a pain to fit, so I understand. I've just sent somebody some details on this. I had a full Laser exhaust fitted but had gone back to the standard chip. The dyno showed a fairly lean mixture and 87BHP at the wheel. With the K12 fuel pressure regulator the mixture was much better and bhp had gone up to 90. I'd say for £35 quid it was well worth it.

As stated it's not an easy item to fit. It sits in a small housing between the throttles and is connected to the fuel supply hoses. To get to it you'll need to remove the seat, fairing, tank, battery, airbox and some other small bits and pieces. It took me about an hour but I am well used to spannering on the S.

Speaking to the team boss of the boxercup GB lads (Mark) at the NEC last year he said that there is adjustment in the S fuel regulator and they aren't allowed to substitute. I'll see if I can get anymore info next time I'm up at Long Eaton.

I don't see how there could be any adjustment in it. It's a small sealed unit and taking it apart was definately not on the design agenda.

Only going by what Mark Fisher said cos they found their BCR running lean but are not allowed to change to different unit. I've never got below the airbox to see.
