another high bars question

Post by f90x »

ok, so i've got the correct bmw comfort bars and a pair of barbacks to fit and i want to go with the 'two separate brake lines' option with some HEL braided hoses. my question is, has anyone done this complete mod before and if so what length did you order the hoses? (bearing in mind the extra length for the barbacks) i have been searching for about half an hour as i am sure someone has done this and posted the details in the past but i can't find anything now. also i need to know what sort of connection i shall need at the master cylinder for the two hoses to double up.

cheers

Connection at the master cylinder is simple it's a double length banjo, you will also need two extra copper sealing washers.

Can't tell you the length as I had mine don at PDQ in Taplow on the bike.

The left hand side needs to be about 50mm longer than the right.

If you measure the lines whilst on the centre stand... that will be it.... the longest position.

I ordered Hels (no barbacks on mine) and forgot to give them one detail..... the orientation of the banjo's to each other on each line. They can be twisted once on the bike because of a double seal... but not really good for them.

Also hels 90 degree banjo's (for the caliper ends) are not as long as the OEM's and makes fitting a spanner on them sometimes difficult.

Hope this helps.... good luck and enjoy.
