Sad to say we parted company with the Audi TT.
Petrol increases, big service bills and potential repair costs were all bad enough. But the impending budget road tax increases that have now come to be, the forthcoming £25 congestion charge for big engine cars and all the other writing on the wall for cars like the TT did it for me.
Lots of gas guzzlers are up for sale around London. The book price of the TT was dropping like a stone so about a week before the budget it was replaced with a Mini Cooper S. Mini Park Lane told me they had never been so busy.
The Cooper s is a great little car and I guess I'll grow to love it but it doesn't make me smile like the TT did. More like a smug grin though as the road tax for the Audi would have been £415 in 2009 after the latest budget hike.
How long before the B*****s start on bikes?

…big downside on the Cooper S (IMO) is its little engine…woofboxer wrote:

…you truly have to rev the 1600 in order to find some performance…
