Floaters

Post by throttlemeister »

My front discs are gone, so I need some new ones. I want to get full floaters instead of the semi floaters like stock (as I have been educated by some here).

Are the PFM the only full floating replacement discs, or are there others?

Which are considered best?

The problem is getting them, there are two options, neither will allow you to use stock calipers, the PFM ones are made to go with their sixpot calipers, try Motorworks some time ago they were trying to sell a couple of sets off, calipers included, the guy who makes them is based in the IOM,the other is Beringer they are more available but not cheap, all the other options are just bolt on.

Boxerpan and i had the same problem when we ordered Dymags,so after spending £1300 and he a lot more, the first thing we did was throw the disc carriers away and had to have custom ones made at 200 pounds a pop,and the work out a way to keep the disc away from the carrier!!!

Apparently, PFM sells full floating OE replacement discs that do not require new rotors. They are called sport front discs and should be available for the S.

Try phoneing him and see what he says,i'd be interested to see a picture,as there isn't a lot of room to fit it all in,what Ron has put up looks interesting,i presume you've got the bigger discs, although haveing had a second look, who's the company, looks like a re-jigged name of a company here in the UK that sell iffy discs, but thats only a guess.

Yeah, I have the 320mm like the 1200 series. I have a request open with motorworks, but they aren't that quick to respond.

Well, apparently the local distributor stopped so now trying to contact them directly as they do not list dealers or distributors on their website.

Ok, had contact with the factory. As expected from the limited info I gathered on the net they are stinkin expensive...

But I am going to get a set nonetheless. :)

And, I think I can create an interesting offer for those that might want a set too. Look for a thread I am starting on that.
