Anyone tell me what type of Immobiliser is fitted to the R1200s?
I need to know what type it is for my insurer, they do not list a BMW Immobiliser and want specific detail
It's an 06 model

What does the fob look like?
Oval - transparant/black, with one round button and one oval button
or
Round black, with just one area in middle to press
First one would be Datatool Evo III
Second would be Meta 357
It's quite likely that BMW used one of the above.......... ?

Am I being a NUMPTY? I have no buttons on my key, have no alarm but I'm sure I have an immobiliser all the same? I'm sure I read somewhere that the 1200s has a coded key set-up

Oops!
Then in that case you have the BMW security "ring" on your key socket.
You'll just have to give the insurers a call and explain to them. I think the ring only affects the ignition and doesn't actually disable the fuel pump relay or injection module or similar.
