Tyre Pressures Newbie question.
Handbook says 32 / 36 PSI. I have just fitted Conti Road attacks and the Conti Website says 36 / 42psi. What is the wisdom of the forum on tyre pressures?
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

Ha! i'm 12 stone. i've never had any trouble with those pressures, but i do appreciate that you have a lot more relevent experience than i, so i'm going to try the lower psi. would you say 32/36 or something else chris? also would you go back to 36/42 with a tank bag and tail pack or not quite so much?winger wrote:42 solo,your haveing a larf,you must be one fat bastard

I run 32-33 and 35-36
If you go to get your bike set up at a suspesnion place they oftern fiddle with your trye pressures too.
My manual for the 1200s recommends 36/42 aswell but I think thats too hard for solo riding. I get about 3k ish from a mich pilot power so that'll do me

I always use what the tyre manufacturer recommends - sure it may be ok to drop pressure one-up but I've never had a problem running 36/42. From experience, if I ran the rear at 36 on an 11S the tyre hardly lasted 5 mins. Went up to 42 and all of a sudden the tyre lasted better - bike seemed to handle better too.

I would never use the 36/42 pressure as this is for people who are not bright enough to change the tyre pressure when carrying a pillion 32/37 suits my setup and the farm tracks we have round here 36/42 is just to hard and i do zero motorway miles.cbr uses the same 36/42 i have found 34/38 works best for that and i run 31/32 for trackdays.These changes and the lack of motorway miles see the tyres stay round till the end with very very little squaring off.
