yet another newbee

Post by boxer2 »

Hello all, as this is my first post i would like to say how impressed i am with the moderators(thanks Paul)and the members for what appears to be a very helpfull,no bull bunch of devoted boxer owners.I have just bought a boxer cup-Randy Mamola 03(from Steve, bid for bikes-London-sound bloke)
with 6k on clock. There's a tale that goes with that -another time maybe.Cheers

Hi Niall,

Glad you made it on in the end.

Cheers,

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Welcome mate, Ive heard plenty of good feedback about Steves bikes so Im sure it will be a goodun, my favourite of the BCR's as it happens before they went sky high with the seat.

cheers timbox but i haven't had the best of starts with the boxer. On the way back from london to hollyhead after buying it ,we stopped for a break and a cupa.Went to start her,no joy but.Lucky my brother was with me and we preceeded in pushing upand down the car park.found out that night how unfit i was.got her going eventually-tongue hanging out and i don't even smoke. To cut to the chase, she done the same again and when we did get to the boat eventually, she would not start the far side.Had to bring her home in a van.Ended up she needed a new battery and plugs. Not the start i was expecting!

Oh Mate, sorry to hear that, think thats a real exception to the rule regarding Steves bikes, but the boxer does demand a good battery thats for sure.
So where are you based?

Everyone knows the Mk II BCRs were faster, cos they have some red in the colour scheme

Al

(must say that I do like the look of the Mk 1 in the flesh...... pics don't seem to do it justice. What really sets them off is red rim tape - Roloo had that fitted to his BCR and it looked yum)
