Good afternoon fellow riders

Post by Openboat »

Tom Smith in eastern Washington State, USA, here.

Just traded a perfectly good late model GS for an '03 R1100S (I still have one GS left). Great fun to ride here in the rolling farm country near the small town in which I live.

I've lurked here since obtaining the S, but had a hell of a time getting registered because the site claimed my personal email address was 'banned'. Yikes.

Many years on BMW, first S. Good to be part of this crowd. tom

Tim Box, SE Rhondda Valley, isnt it.

Hiya mate, welcome to the mad house, only got my 1100s last August, my first ever BM, Love it, thing is, Im now starting to look at other models as well, rather fancy a GS myself, though one of the bigger tourers wouldnt go a miss either, I reckon an RT for the winter would be luxurious. I digress, welcome again.

Hi Tom,

Sorry about the problems registering. If you could be a good chap and send me your passport, a set of finger prints from your right hand, swear allegance to her Imperial Britannic Majesty, Elizabeth II, and promise not to tip any tea into Boston Harbour, you'll be perfectly welcome on here

All the best,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

You won't regret a GS, Tim. Mine's a '94. Probably one of the first in the US. Purchased from a shop near Stuttgart. I love it.

I have to present my passport to access co.uk websites now, Paul. But I'm safe. Very, very safe.

Thank Neil.

See you guys on the wrong side of the road... tom

If I try to change the email address in my profile from my work email to my personal email, and it blows up, will I have to re-register?

I'd really prefer to not use my work address... Thanks. t
