Hi,i went to London last week on my r1200s.It was an all motorway trip and i made it non stop.It was 180 miles and the bike took 15 litres to refill. That was 54 mpg!!! I stopped a bit earlier coming home 170 miles and it used just over 14 litres - again 54 mpg.It was quite stop start on the way down but i still didnt hang about and on the way home it was a lot clearer so averaged about 90.Im impressed with its economy at those sort of speeds.Only problem is a numb bum and stiff legs after a while but it is a sport bike not a tourer.

I get way better mpg at a given speed than i did on teh 1100s, therefore I recommend cruising at 130 mph

Sitting at about 90 seems to give a good return. I use to get about 120 miles before resrve light on the BCR but on this bike I expect 140-150

It makes a big difference on mine :? 98/99 ron = 140-150 before warning light, 95 ron = 120-125, and it runs rough too, best I've used is shell vpower, the bike just runs sooo much better on that than anything else, but is also good on the cheaper tesco 99 ron.

Me too. 120-130 max (to light coming on - add 40-50 to empty) from 95ron - 140plus with 97/98.

Runs smooth on either - I guess the full system sans CAT helps that.
