question about Lennies

hi guys,

i keep on reading about lennies etc...(Lennies induct - carbon fibre high-flow air intake)
i took my side panel off the other day to clean the airfilter...and my air flow is made of carbon fibre or at least it looked like it to me...(having the same pattern as the front mudguards and the hugger)

what does the standard air flow intake looks like just black?

any help is much appreciate...sorry i dont have taken a photo off it but could do that tomorrow if needed...

any thoughts?

Sounds like you have one of lennies finest fitted there mate

the std induct is black moulded plastic.

the main difference is that an Induct is bigger - but since you don't have the 'smaller' one to compare with, that bit of info is pointless. The original air inlet has a plastic grille over the front opening - an Induct does not. The original air inlet has the front section made from a partly-flexible fibrous material, and the rear section made from black plastic - an Induct is carbon fibre, both sections. If you can marvel at the quality of the carbon fibre matting, even around the mounting lugs - you've got an induct.

You must have a carbon aftermarket one. The stardard unit is in three parts. A black plastic header unit which bolts to the frame and a black plastic end unit which bolts onto the air filter housing. They are connected via a flexible duct tube which is a push/slide fit over the two plastic parts.

hi guys,

thanks for the quick responses..

it didn't have a front grill bit for sure.
as i took them off.. it was 2 pieces...one coming straight from the top of the airfilter and that another sort of sqare carbon fibre tube...joint by about 5cm of rubber seal in the middle...

i will try and take a photo...
the airintake does look big-ish and also the K/N filter had loads of flies etc...which means they are getting through with no problems.

yes...this sound like what i have 2 pieces with a rubber joint...
is that good or bad?

Lars you lucky sod, no wonder your 1100 sounds better than mine, bloody fortune them lennies to buy.

Thanks to soggy bottom for the photos...
yes the once at the left is exactly what i have got...

and Tim: yes, i consider myself lucky and happy...i wonder what else lies underneath my bike...
mayb i should attempt to do the 24k service myself and check it all out...
