Stripping/Coating/Painting

Post by PBBoxer »

Got a bit of a problem.

My original 1200s had black satin powder coating to the rocker covers and wheels.
Took some bits to tripple s in Bingley last week and they refused to do the new rocker covers, as they require special stripping and they arent allowed to carry the stuff they need.

I tried teh trusty Nitromors today and one of the covers stripped straight back to bare metal in minuteshowever teh other was totally different.
The surface mottled and softened but under that there's a white coating that again although somewhat softened, aint budging. Wierd that the two covers are different?

Question I have, can anyone recommend a really good product for stripping the covers, or has anyone else had similar issues?

Hi PB,
Did you shake the can of Nitromors before using it?. Sounds daft but this happend to me once. This stuff settles in the can and unless you shake the bugger out of it you'll get differing strengths hence one side stripped and the other didn't.

Cheers, Cobbster.
