Hi all,
i just had new centre stand fitted and gave the bike a good clean.
i also check the play and when the bike is in first or second gear engaged i can still turn the wheel forward / backward by a considerable amount (a good 5cm) - is this normal???
Also i had my bike with engine running and engaged first and second whilst on the centre and spun the wheel up using the throttle...i heard some clicking noises - is that normal or related to the play?
the bike is a 99-T-reg and has done 22.5k. when riding i dont notice a lot wrong...sometimes gear changes (down mainly) can be a bit noisy, but not excessive.
Any thoughts / comments.
thx Lars
Play in final drive? Normal?

The rotational backlash is normal (which came as a bit of a surprise to me
). When you run the wheel with the stand deployed - it can sound a bit like a machinegun, as the gear rattles to and fro on the pinion.
