i need a small tank bag just to hold documents, phone, maps etc and have been looking at the sw - motech daypack 2 system.anyone any knowledge of this system?.it has a tank ring which fastens onto the petrol filler ring to which the tank bag clips.one quick question, with the 1100s filler cap being off set do you end up with the tang bag off set to one side

.had a look on their web site and it says there is an amount of adjustment but only forward and backwards.any one tried this system that can tell me if the bag sits central.dont fancy looking down at a bag thats over to one side.

Have a look at the FAMSA bags............
available at:
http://www.windingroads.co.uk/catalog/index.php
There is a thread on this site that features them - search on "Famsa".....
A good bag, and you only need a new harness when you change your bike.

Hi Northernboxer
I have a motec tank ring that I use on the 11S and a 1150RS, it allows me to use the same tank bag on both bikes. My bag is large(21L) and does sit off centre but does not cause me any problems. It is very easy to fit and remove.
If you can find a local stockist see if you can try before you buy.

Forgot to add that there is a FAMSA harness that has the fuel cap cut-out offset, so that the harnes and bag have no offset.

Evening Northernboxer. As Al says, the Famsa is pretty good. I bought one direct from them last year and it really is ideal. Fits perfectly, can be removed in seconds, expandable, side pockets etc etc. Comes with all the extras for carrying/ wearing etc when off the bike.
Its well made with good quality zips etc. Nice and compact but can open out to hold enough condoms and pile cream to see anyone through a cracking weekend away!
The bag actually zips half off the base section and flips to the side to expose the fuel-cap.
Dont know how quick you intend to make up your mind on which one to go for but I will be taking mine to Hawes and you are more then welcome to try it out. Remind me to remove the contents first.
