i need to lay my bike (R1100s) up for a month or so, what do people recommend for supporting the bike, a single sided paddock stand, BMW auxillary stand as in handbook or is it best to get a proper centre stand fitted.

I have had the auxillery stand in the past, but I didn't like it, I would recommend an Abba Stand
www.abbastands.co.uk
My 1100s was permanantly on the stand when not being ridden.

Cheers Steve
looking at the ABBA stand video the 'lugs/brackets' (from stand to ground)that support the bike look a bit weedy, i take it that they are plenty strong enough, as i work away so the bike will be laid up a fair few times.
Price looks good so i will order a set.

Gavin - I can vouch for the Abba's strength, it's an extremely sturdy item. If you do a search, you'll no doubt find some pics of one fitted to an 1100S on this site...might even be mine

I have one also and can confirm that they are solid.
