What was the reason for ordering them.
Is it the vibrations? I was considering getting a set, but they seem rather pricey.

Hi, I ordered them because I was in a dilema. Ive resisted getting bar risers for a while because I think they slightly spoil the dynamics of a good looking bike, but being the wrong side of 45 and carrying a few back and knee injuries long distances or even short city trips were begining to hurt. So rather than lash out loads of cash on a replacement I decided to try bar risers instead. I'm off upto Jockland next week, we'll be covering 1000miles plus so hopefully the bar risers will make the journey a bit less painfull.
I agree they are a bit pricey especially when you add on the price of a longer front brake hose (£69). www.sportouring.com have an offer on at the moment RRP £230 down to £199 so this offsets the brake hose a wee bit. Having said that I do like the bike and its a cheeper alternative to getting a new one.
As for the vibrations, I'd have to get a new bike to sort that one out!!!

Cheers cobbster.

I have Rapid Dog Barbacks on my S.
I am very happy with them. The only issue was how snug they are on the fork tops, and getting the things mounted was a struggle, but worth it.

The best way to do it is to push the fork tops down through the top yoke a bit, so there is just a stub to place on, then work back up once the Barback and handlebar are located.

I re-routed my wiring around the back of the forks to get better slack, and re routed my throttle cable to avoid any tight spots or cinching.

If you want some pictures PM your e-mail address and I'll take some for you.

Do you need to fit a longer length brake line or do you only need the longer length hose if you have ABS.

Also so they make a big difference/

I haven't had the bike too long however since I bought it I do tend to suffer with wrist pain, which I haven't experienced on any other bike. Is it just me or is it typical of the bike?

Hi Daveb,
I've avoided putting the bar backs on because I thought they would spoil the looks of the bike. But aching wrists and shoulders made me decide to put them on and because I like the bike and did'nt want to start shelling more money out on a replacement.
You do have to replace the front brake line. My bike is non ABS. I've ordered the BMW part from Motorworks but I may cancel it and go braided stainless steel.
I havn't acctually riden the bike yet because of the lack of front brake hose, but it feels great, much more comfy and I wish I had put them on sooner.

Cheers, cobbster.

Hi jivebiker,

Routed cables your way the other night, sweeeeeeet. Much better than leaving them positioned at the front, theres less tension on the heated grips cables. STILL can't ride it though, waiting for brake hoses to arrive. Hope they come PDQ otherwise I'll have to take my cousin up on his offer to lend me his 1200GS for my trip upto Loch Ness this weekend

Cheers, cobbster.

Hi all,
Well new brake lines came coutesy of Vyxxn performance and bike is back together. Whoooohooo!!! what a differance these bar risers make. The bike is so much more comfortable it feels like you could ride a 1000miles non stop. No more wrist or shoulder ache, it feels much more positive in corners and the best of all hardly any vibes through the bars. Something I thought impossible but the bar vibes are pretty negligible, a definite plus to putting them on.
Off to Loch Ness on sunday then I'll get a real feel of how good they are.

Cheers, cobbster.
