R1200s Remus header pipes fitment

Has anyone fitted the Remus header pipes (the ones that remove the cat) to a R1200S?

I'm trying to fit them, but the gaps between the pipes and the engine block are not symettrical - the n/s is approx. 3cm and the o/s is approx. 0.5cm. I presume this can't be right!? Anyone know the best technique for fitting them properly?

Also, what do you do with the soft steel bracket under the bike that secured around the cat section of the original pipe? It looks as though it will be difficult to fasten properly because it's partly fouling the springs holding the headers to the y-piece.

Thanks for any help.

Hi John,
I've had the Remus headers on for the last 11000 miles, They do not hang symetrically, Threw me when fitting but I have not had any problems. The strap which fits around the cat is no longer used (although DO NOT remove the hanger plate and pin from the engine block) Hope this helps.

Regards Peter.

Thanks!

Thanks Peter.

I'd sussed out the symmetrical business, after a lot of brute force and old Anglo-Saxon adjectives, but the strap was baffling me a bit. It's nearly done now. I suspect it'd be a lot easier with someone to help, for leverage/etc., particularly when working in a confined space! Should get the hugger fitted tomorrow, then I'll hopefully try it out on Saturday.
