LRP petrol on non-cat boxer?

I've seen this hinted at in some posts, but can someone clarify -

on a R1200S without the cat, is it OK to run LRP petrol, and are there any advantages / disadvantages over 'super' unleaded?

John, I think that it's the 98 ron that's important, I have no idea what the lrp is rated at.
