Rear mudguard/fender eliminator kit ?

Post by bcr_rep05 »

Can anybody recommend a good fitting mudguard/fender eliminator
kit (as the US folk call them) for an R1100S ? The rear guard is a tad too
big for my tastes and I'd rather not chop it.

Think this might be what you're after...

Haven't got one fitted myself, and don't know if there's a UK importer, but they certainly look the part.

If memory serves I think Roloo did a very effective home-made version for his 1200S using the existing part and posted some excellent pictures - try searching previous posts.

…when I had the 1100 I ditched the original ‘mudguard/fender eliminator’ (as you guys call it), and swapped it for a CF version. This CF version is just big enough for the license plate we use (20 x 15 centimeters). In the pictures you can see that the license plate light is directly under the exhaust…

…after a while I ordered the R1100Sgoodies ‘extra stealth’ bracket ; but I believe Dennis (the guy behind R1100Sgoodies) doesn’t respond anymore if you ask him anything regarding the stuff he is (or was ??) selling (BTW ; I ordered the extra stealth bracket directly from the States)…

I'm in exactly the same boat, having ordered a new 'plate for my S the stock rear mudguard thingy looks 'orrible. If you decide to get summat made up (I was tempted to go down the minimal stainless and LEDs route) drop me a line and I'll definitely be in.

We can get away with pretty small licence plates over here in Ireland so
that's why I want ditch the mudguard. And it looks better without it too !
Thanks for that thread - I think I'll give the DIY route a go when I get
a chance.
If it works out, I'll post a few pics and let you know how I get on.
