unexpected site down time...

Post by Paul »

The site was down for an hour or two this morning, due to an admin cockup by my good self  . sorry about that.... Normal service should now be resumed.

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Paul, just wondering. Why are you using such an old forum software, which is known to be vulnerable for outside attacks? I personally prefer SMF as it is faster and has more features and seems to be less vulnerable for abuse, but that is my taste. Taste aside, you appear to be running an old version of phpBB, which is definately prone to hacking. If you do not want to change to something else, at least I would suggest upgrading to the latest version..

Gijs,

The cockup was caused by my inept ettempt to upgrade to the latest version of the software. It now is running the latest stable version.

There is a major new version of the software almost ready for release, which I will be upgrading to over the summer months. That has more features and is more secure than this current release.

Cheers,

Paul
