bad fuel and things

It started a couple of rides ago, cutting out and picking up. Most disconcerting in a fast bend! Coughing and not running well, so I just topped up the tank and hoped for the best. Dover to Dunstable yesterday afternoon; awful for the first twenty miles, then settled down for the 80 mph cruise. Chasing around the lanes in Herts/Beds in the late afternoon, it started again. Topped up the fuel and it seemed o.k. This morning, into the Smoke to the Ace, dreadful! I am now quite adept at the rolling restart in neutral at about 40mph. I left early and found that at 50mph, no stopping, it was not too bad. Hit 80 mph on the motorway, cut out.
When I got home and took the fuel pump cover off, I found some small bits of flora and about a tablespoon full of a yellow jelly, stuff which was in little blobs, in the fuel tank. Rinsed it out, now drying off.
It felt while riding, that these bits were blocking the fuel from getting through, as it cut out, they were released and in due course sucked back on to the pick up enough to block it again. Too thick to go through, just stuck on the outside of the pick-up.
A batch of bad fuel I guess. What a pain. Quite ruined my weekend ride out. Great Triumph day at the Ace though.
I also found that the inlet adaptors for balancing had AGAIN lost the rubber caps! Has anyone found an alternative cover that does not drop off when they get hot??

You'd be well advised to change the filter before you reassemble and be careful , running without the rubber plugs on the throttle bodies could leave the engine running too lean /holed piston?

Are you sure this is fuel? Is it still doing it? Does it actually cut out or just misfire/struggle?

This sounds exactly like the symptoms I had (twice!) when the ignition wire from the switch fractures internally and cuts out intermittently until you move the bars slightly and it comes back to life
