It's a minefield out there.
My renewal for my 1200s is £160.50 from Ebike Fully Comp. After your post I thought I'd give BMW Motorrad a try, £206.62. !!!
I can't see what the difference in service is as all else is equal with Excess etc. being the same. Descisions descisions eh!!

Hi - Renewal notice caim today... £228.22 from BMW Motorrad (8 years protected ncb / £250 excess... No points, no convictions - your honour).
A check on Carole Nash... £120.29 (including UK & europe breakdown recovery).
Called Motorrad to get a lower quote and was advised that as the initial insurance was set up via a dealer (in 2002, when I first bought my 11s), they couldn't offer a lower quote. I would have to contact their 'non dealer' people and give them all my details... as if setting up from new! WTF.
Carole Nash got the business.

The last time one of my bikes got nicked (Kawasaki KR-1S) I was with NIG through Bennetts.
They totally shafted me on the valuation, having conveniently delayed making an offer until the race season ended so the market was flooded with cheap "low mileage" bikes.
Lesson learned, I won't go with them again.

BMW quoted me around £900 IIRC
Got it with ebike in the end for £260 inc breakdown.
