Bloody mondeo drivers!!!

Post by rasman2k »

Hi,

Had a proper scare on thursday!

The scene: A roundabout.
The Cast: 1 R1100S in mint condition and 1 Ford Mondeo

Now action.....

Mondeo indicates and starts to turn left, I proceed straight across the roundabout only to find Mr Mondeo has changed his mind and is now doubling back around the roundabout using the outside lane. I'm leant over left heading for my exit with no opportunities and then BAM! Bumper meets leg then the back of my bike :(

Damage: rear indicator lens and looks like the subframe is twisted...oh and one pair of alpinestars trousers!

so f*cked off! Chap was very apologetic but how I stayed on the bike I have no idea! Just hope everything goes through quickly as I'm off to Assen in 4 weeks!!!!

All day, i'd been seeing bikers wearing jeans/shorts and trainers! So glad I was wearing my kit, sure I was hot but I'm sure it saved my ankle/leg!

The moral: Don't take anything for granted!!!!

Safe journeys this bank holiday you boxer heads!

At least your ok rasman, that's all that matters the 1100 can be fixed although the time limit is against you before assen, how does the bike feel? is it any worse than before the bump or won't it be good enough for assen and have you been in touch with your insurance or don't you want to go there? :(

Glad you are OK and as Ruffy has said bikes can get fixed or replaced.

I am a firm believer of wearing good kit.

Yeah, I do take solace in the fact that I'm still here to tell the tale.

I'm still riding the bike and it feels as good as ever (gotta love german engineering!) it's just the inconvenience and the thoughts of 'what might have been'

Scary! :(

But regarding insurance everything is all good! The guy had phoned his insurance and admitted full liability so a loan bike is en route whilst my p&j is being repaired :D

:D :D That's really good news that the bike rides well rasman,it sounds fixable at least and with the mondeo driver admiting his errors the spanner men can do their best to put you back on the road again with your trip to assen coming up,good luck and keep you eyes peeled for mondeo man!!
