Abba Stand

Post by sloukes »

Having bought myself an Abba stand as recommended by many people I find I cant use it on my Boxer Cup when the sidestand is down as the Abba stand wants to go where the sidestand is when I lift it.
Anyone else got this problem ?

Cheers Gromit - I can raise the bike if I push the sidestand away with my foot but lowering it again still fouls on the forward facing red arm.
Seems to me the little bobbin on the right that fits into the swing arm pivot needs to be an inch longer......

Hi I have had an Abba stand for a couple of years now without any problems. What you are doing wrong is you are attatching the stand the wrong side of the sidestand. With the bike on its sidestand pass the Abba IN FRONT OF THE SIDESTAND.

You will have to lift the Abba off the floor a bit as you locate the side clamps and tighten them. Grab the extended arm and gently bring the stand down as you bring the bike upright. Then it's just a matter of pulling the bike up onto the Abba. This will kick the sidestand out of the way as it goes up. When bringing the bike back down again remember to bring the sidestand down again when the Abba is just out of the way.

It's very well balanced and not as precarious as it sounds Any problems just ask and I will try to post some pics, though I will probably find picture posting has the same level of difficulty you are experiencing with the stand.
Watching you Focker!
