I was cleaning the old girl.... as you do, and I noticed (for the first time) that on the leftside fairing cover there is a "scoop hole" under the winker moulding. What is that for goodness sake. The scoop for the airbox is below this and operates in its own environment.

Apart from not noticing this before ... sorry about that! I cannot imagine what this would be for?

It's where the air intake was going to go before they realised it couldn't . There is an earlier post about it somewhere. Presumably they left it as it was for 'character' .

It's a gateway to another dimension...a bit like the one at the back of your tumble drier where the 'lost' sock goes.

& if you try and connect it to the normal induct pipe... the bike travels SO fast that you are instantaneously catapuleted up your own a...
