R1200S, Ilmberger / Wunderlich Hugger

Post by wicker »

Anyone fitted one of these to an R1200S. The instruction leaflet / photos are worse than useless; tiny black and white photos & written in German.
Guess the latter part is my own fault for ordering direct from the factory.

Very curious.

If you had got one from the factory then they would have done it through me as the UK agent. They supply them to me with English instructions in black and white, and I add a colour version. I don't know why - I just do.

I suspect that you are confusing Wunderlich as being - the factory. They are just a marketing operation. As far as I know, they do not actually make anything.

I would think that the plethora of Wunderlich importers would be very upset to think of direct supply.

Still all credit to you for actually getting one. Supply is still very difficult. Mind you, you missed out on a 'Trixter' price.

So how do we (eg me  ) get a hugger for the 12S at a good price, do we need to get together & put in a "large" order - if so how many do we need to buy? & at what price? - I want one. . . . . .looking at the ohlins shock I dont just want one, I NEED one!

I had ordered the hugger and a few other bits for my bike when I was over in Germany on holiday last Sept. I was heading for the Rhine area and justy happened to stop by the Wunderlich premises (as you do) where they had catalogues listing all kinds of automotive porn. Just could not stop myself from indulging......

I had all but given up on them supplying the order and was on the verge of writing to cancel when a box appeared. Only got the hugger, no sign of other bits.

Hugger now fitted to bike and looks pretty good. Wheel out job and instructions none to clear. Road tested in the rain and seems to do a fairly good job of keeping the road muck off me.
