I'm going to give the 'Bird a couple of months probation before I decide what to do. At the moment it feels great - so much nicer than a VFR and very comfy. Sure it's not overloaded with character but the motor's great - Dynojet kit/dyno etc will lose the 5k flatspot and it'll be cracking.

I've been suffering a trapped nerve in the base of my spine the last couple of months, and riding the S really aggravated it - combination of the vibration and riding position/seat. Did 200 miles on the Blackbird today and not even the slightest twinge. That's worth a lot to me.

We'll see how it goes anyway. :)

Morals?Off course not!I may yet join the dark side and have hyper velocity at my wrist.
I,ve got a few options,a falco being one of those.Trying to find one at the right price and condition is another story though. Will make a phone call tomorrow and see whats what.Nothing is set in stone yet.

New bike to the stable today.
97 CBR1100XX blackbird,11000 miles, laser carbon cans and orignals, baglux, blue screen and headlight cover and the worst diy paint job i,ve seen on the plastics.Few scrapes and wounds.
Rides very nice and goes like stink.
Plastics will be getting a dose of matt black, maybe by brush or roller.
Needs a little fettling to get everything up to scratch.Just bought new pads and service bits to bring everything up to scratch
gus
ps the blue headlight cover got stamped on outside the guys house!
I would have done the same to the screen, but the original broke when he had his tumble.

If you need anything for the Blackbird, get in touch with John at Jaws Blackbirds - he is a Blackbird specialist, excellent and well priced service, and a throughly decent chap.

http://www.hondablackbird.co.uk/

also try www.superblackbird.co.uk for a forum with more useful info on the bike.

Enjoy it. 8)

PS sorry if you knew the above details already
