I wonder if BM will launch a new streetfighter style machine over the next few months..?
I would love to see a naked version of the R12S..especially with an underseat exhaust and mad styling.
What do you guys think?
Will BMW make a new Rockster?

Are you joking??
The Rockster was very probably the worst selling bike BMW have ever produced.
It was slated by the press, and with good reason - it's NOT a streetfighter, it's a tarted up R1150R with all the downsides that bike has, (ie it's not fast by magazine standards, not light, not flickable etc etc). Makes a perfect road bike though, but what magazine is going to "get" that??
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE mine, so much so that I'm on my 3rd, but it was never a popular bike. Too BMW for most UK riders, and too unusual for the BMW cognoscenti. They're becoming a STEAL on the 2nd hand market though.
Mate of mine has just picked up a mint 6K mile 53 bike for about £3,500!! try finding a GS or an S for that price in that condition!
What the Rockster "could" have been would be a far more interesting bike, if they'd started with the "R1100S", put the R1150R motor in it (for the cubes), and the "R" tank, GS lights, etc then the bike would have (imho) been far more successful because it would have been based on a much sportier chassis and have a much better "look". The "S" underseat tail pipes and seat, with the GS lights and 1150R tank and oil-cooler cowls would have been a much better mix. (I'm tempted, after a lottery win, to do this myself.
)
As said above - the K1200R is what the Rockster should have been right from the off.
The new R1200R is a very good bike (if you like that sort of thing, I personally don't happen to like it too much), and is funky "enough" that it doesn't need another version, it'll sell on it's own merits.

Was that from Southsea? I've just enquired after one advertised in the MCN located in Southsea but it's sold. That was a 6K 53-reg bike. Probably just as well as I've got nowhere to put it. I think it would have been a case of retail therapy to cheer me up in these dreary winter days
