Oil...again

I've picked up some 10w40 part-synth from Halfords but it does state for Diesel engines - am I right in thinking that's just a general recommendation rather than an actual difference in the oil itself? It definitely states part-synthetic rather than the normal semi-synthetic, which confused me more. Am I okay to use it?
I was actually after some mineral as my bike's low mileage, but couldn't see any...but that's probably because I wasn't entirely sure what I was looking for!
I actually got my last 10w40 stuff from Tesco and looking back I really should have paid more attention to the bottle.
Thanks in advance for any info you knowledgeable lot can provide.

I reckon you need to take that back mate and swop it

Their ordinary 'Enhanced Mineral Oil' for petrol engines is in an orange bottle - got some at the weekend.

Yeah you will damage the engine with that as diesel oil has special additives to clean the engine.
