Has anyone removed the steering damper from an R1200S?

It seem far too stiff (tee hee) in the cold weather and makes the bike unstable when riding slowly.

Some of the earleir R models came with steering dampers as standard, and like you say, attempting any slow filtering makes the bike weave horribly.
None of the 4 valve boxers really need a steering damper as the chasis is so good.
I'd just undo one of the mounts and try it out before total removal.
Or invest in a Arrow/Ohlins adujustable unit.

Thanks chaps.
I didnt have one on my R1 and that was scary on bumpy A roads.

I've taken the big bars off now as its a bit cold sitting on top of a combine harvester at this time of year.
